What is LipoSelection?

LipoSelection is a process that emulsifies and removes body fat. This new procedure is FDA-approved, and is safe and effective. This procedure uses ultrasound to melt and remove body fat. LipoSelection is specifically made to target areas of the body prone to fat deposits, especially in the thigh area, stomach, love handles, arms and chest.

What is involved with the LipoSelection procedure?

The first step in the LipoSelection procedure is to ensure that it is safe for the individual considering it. Anti-Aging & Vitality Centers physicians can make that assessment. The whole LipoSelection procedure from start to finish takes from 3 to 4 hours, involving three steps:

1.   A small incision (less than 1/4 inch) is made in the specified area. Local anesthesia is used.

2.   An AVC physician inserts a small wand-type device in the specified area. A sound wave is emitted, actually melting fat cells. This wand is specifically designed to melt fat cells, and avoids destroying other important bodily tissues such as blood vessels and nerve cells.

3.   The physician removes the emulsified fat from the body, through gentle draining and massage.   

How is LipoSelection different from Lipo Suction?

The Lipo Suction procedure is more invasive than LipoSelection. Lipo Suction forces and sucks fat from the body, under the use of a general anesthesia. Lipo Suction removes more than just fat cells- it also removes nerve cells, blood cells and connective tissues.

Because Lipo Suction removes important bodily tissues while removing fat cells, the healing process is complicated. More blood is lost with Lipo Suction, and there is a higher risk for complications. The Lipo Suction procedure costs between $4,000 and $10,000.

LipoSelection is different because this procedure targets only fat cells, not the other surrounding tissues. Healing time is much less, and also costs less.
